Lauren grew up in New York City. When she was little, she dreamed of becoming a “motorcycle girl.” Eventually she decided being an actor was a much more practical choice. Attending The Spence School (all girls) and Belvoir Terrace (all girls), she spent most of her childhood playing some great male characters: Valere in La Bête...Riff in West Side Story...the elderly male servant Ferapont in Three Sisters.
Nowadays she lives in Manhattan with her husband Dano and their two trouble-making cats, Buster and Little Boo. She and Dano sometimes work together, which is pretty cool; they co-created the critically-acclaimed web series Precious Cargo.
In addition to acting in stuff, she also dialect coaches, has no shame about her love of every show on Bravo, and befuddles people with her colorful wardrobe.
